Activity 3: Outside School

Being a leader outside of school is not hard.  You just have to be the person that you team or friends need.  If you are on a team and it doesn’t matter what sport you play because there are always are going to be people who need a leader.  It is as simple as showing someone how to do something or how to line up.

You could be a leader by doing anything really like a coach, teacher, or even a gentleman in public.  Whether you know it or not you always have someone watching.  You have to set a good example for the younger kids, which is what my teachers say to us all the time.  I never really took that into consideration until I got into middle school.  I have only done a few things to show being a leader isn’t hard but when I get into high school and join some clubs there I will try harder.

Another way of being a leader is to tell someone that they are doing something wrong whether it is drugs, bullying, or vandalism.  It might take a lot of effort to show him/her that what they are doing wrong.  Sometimes you don’t even need to have a friend who is doing something wrong, just don’t do drugs is one way.

If you are going to be a leader you need to be nice, kind, and open.  I’ve learned to somewhat be a leader by just watching coaches, teachers, or guidance counselor.  You need to be patient with who ever you trying to help.

At Epiphany we have lots of people who are great leaders.  I learned what I need to do to be a leader at high school.  It’s not hard you just need the right people in your life to show the way who are also leaders.  You have to show the younger kids who are and aren’t leaders. If it was for Epiphany I wouldn’t know what to do.
